Foods containing antioxidants, high quality proteins, omega-3 fatty acids, minerals like copper, selenium, plant compounds such as retinol, isoflavones, different vitamins etc are helpful in fighting wrinkles. Following is a list of foods that contains all the mentioned substances:
nuts such as , Almonds, brazil nut, walnut

Soy food (but in moderation)
Legumes, lentils & beans
Vegetables like cucumber, ginger, garlic, tomatoes

- Reduce caffeine, increase Cocoa, and opt for Green tea:
Caffeine in coffee leads to skin dehydration, which makes your skin dried out. On the other hand Cocoa contains high levels of two dietary flavanols (catechin & epicatechin) which protect skin from sun damage, improves circulation and makes the skin look and feel more smoother. Green tea is another good, healthy option for your tea/ coffee habit.
- Stay protected from harmful Sunrays!
UV rays of sun damages skin collagen leading to wrinkled, dull skin. When going out in a Sun is unavoidable then you should protect yourself by applying a good Sunscreen lotion of at least SPF 15 (better choose one with SPF 25-30). It protects you from UVA & UVB radiations from sun. Do apply sunscreen 15-20 minutes before stepping out in sun.
Also wear good quality sunglasses to avoid eye wrinkles. Sunrays makes you squint which leads to wrinkles around eyes. So prevent such fine lines, wrinkles by wearing quality sunglasses.
- Quit smoking & Alcohol :
Smoke be it active or passive is always harmful for your skin. Smoking damages collagen and squinting, lip pursing creates wrinkles over the short time. Also alcohol consumption makes skin thinner leading to dull, wrinkled skin in a short time.
- Be careful while using cosmetics:
Instead you can opt for natural product for skin. Though you can give a try to some high quality anti -wrinkle skincare product, as such creams contains antioxidants which helps to prevent free radical damage, thus helping to reverse aging skin to some extent.
- Control your facial expression – smile safely:
The more animated expression leads to more creases which eventually become wrinkles. Frowning, squinting and uncontrollably smiling can cause fine lines on your face. You can avoid crow’s feet by wearing good sunglasses to fight the need to squint in the sun.
- Sleep sufficient and on your back:
Sleep like a baby. Take a good 6-8 hours of sleep every day. This is really very important to have sufficient sleep, as when we sleep our body releases human growth hormone (HGH) which controls overall growth of all body tissues including skin. On the other hand if we don’t take sufficient sleep our body releases stress hormone called Cortisol which slow down the growth, even damages the tissues. This leads to dull, stressed, wrinkled skin.
Along with sufficient sleep, sleeping in a right posture Is equally important. The best position is to sleep on your back. As when we sleep sideways it creates wrinkles on our cheeks and chin.
- Just stay calm, don’t stress:
Just be calm, avoid stress as it will ultimately take a toll on your skin making it thin and weak which can’t fight with the elements that produces wrinkles. Do anything which de-stress you eg: Yoga, listening music, painting, dancing, swimming, reading etc. Always adapt a positive attitude in life.
- Follow a good skin care regime:
Along with all the above mentioned things good skin care routine is equally important to keep fine lines, winkles and other skin aging issues at bay.
Always use soap free solution for cleaning your face as normal soap can make your skin more dry. Try to use warm water to clean face as it will help to unblock skin pores and remove grime.
Use some mild scrub, gently massage the skin in a circular motion to remove dead skin cells and promote good blood circulation. Always moisturize after exfoliation. Follow this routine daily.
