24 Tips to Avoid General Beauty Mistakes
Now a days you will find lots of beauty products from different company , different type, so selecting the best one which suits your skin is really a tricky job. Because if you select and use wrong product it may make you look older than you really are. After all looking great is more than just lucky genes. Even just a little work can make great impact. So here are the tips to avoid general makeup mistakes in day to day life and make you look & feel better.
- 1. Using talcum powder:
Always use pressed powder over the loose talcum powder, as talcum powder will dry out your skin and make fine lines visible . This will make you look older. But pressed powder blot away all the excess oil from skin, making it look fresh and young
- 2. Overloaded fragrance:
We all know too much of anything even good thing is a bad thing. Don’t overspray the perfume. Just 3-4 spays are more than enough.
- 3. Spring on perfume after your are dressed:
Spraying perfume on your cloth can not only stain the fabric but the fibers of the cloth can make the perfume smell unpleasant. Actually fragrance is formulated to be applied to the skin where it interacts with the body heat and smells good. So the better and actual way to use perfume is before dressing spray or dab it lightly on the skin at one or two ‘pulse points’ like wrists, knees, behind earlobes, base of throat (Don’t rub your wrists together as it breaks down the molecular structure of the perfume and will not give the best effect).
- 4. Over-plucking eyebrows:
Over-plucking your eyebrows not only damages the delicate skin around the eyebrows but also risking having sparse brows. So the best way is to use good brow pencil to shape them and make them look thicker. After all your brows shape your face and set the canvas for your makeup.
- 5. Plucking eyebrows too close to the mirror:
Don’t pluck your eyebrows too close to the mirror as when you are focused on every little hair, you can’t keep track of the shape of entire eyebrow which leads to uneven and thin brows. Instead always stand feet away from the mirror. Move closer to the mirror and begin tweezing. Step back after every few hairs to check the proper shape and symmetry of your brows. Always remember brows should be in proportion to your face shape and features.
- 6. Using moisturizer to reduce puffiness around eyes:
If the skin around your eyes is puffy nut not red or itchy or irritated they apply a cold compress or an ice pack for 10-12 minutes. You can also use some light eye gel containing caffeine. (But if your under eye area is red and itchy then do visit good dermatologist). Generally salty diet among other things causes fluid retention around the eyes. If you use any hydrating ingredients like moisturizer / under eye creams they hold water in the skin and make your eyes look more puffier.
- 7. Overusing Blusher:
Always highlight your cheekbones by sweeping the blusher upwards which will give you a thinner and young looking face. If you use the blusher on apples of your cheeks it will make you look older. So be careful! Remember blush should barely be seen .It should be rosy or peachy on the face.
- 8. Applying foundation without giving moisturizer time to dry:
Always wait at least 1 min till your moisturizer is absorbed in skin. Or if you are in hurry blot your face with tissue after moisturizing then apply foundation, as the creaminess of a moisturizer can cause makeup to thin out which will result in blotchiness on skin and you will not get the actual amount of coverage your foundation can give throughout the day.
